Malaika Arora looking glamorous as Anarkali Disco Chali in Housefull 2. Snapshots and a mini teaser promo of Malaika Arora Khan's new item dance number "Anarkali disco chali" in Sajid Khan's upcoming film Housefull 2 has been generating hype ever since it was announced last year. The song marks Malaika's return as an item girl for the first time since Munni Badnaam in Dabangg.

Malaika is seen flaunting her curves in a backless, see-through Anarkali kurti teamed with a pink churidar. The song as well as the dance look heavily inspired by Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan's modern mujra Kajra re in Bunty Aur Babli.
Although Malaika's kurti, with embellished patchwork, makes a different oomph statement from Ash's tiny choli and lehanga in Kajra re, the entry shot of both the dancers in their respective numbers is similar.
Like Ash, Malaika too dons kundan jewellery including a chapka (a fan- shaped head ornament), huge earrings and embellished bangles, and has left her hair open. You can also spot similar Kathak mudras and a mehfil milieu, duly commercialised to suit Bollywood taste.
In the song, Malaika tries to seduce Akshay Kumar, John Abraham, Mithun Chakraborty and Boman Irani.
The lyrics, a mix of Urdu and English words, have been penned by Samir Anjaan and the song is the fourth item number that brings Malaika and choreographer Farah Khan together. They first worked together to come up with the superhit number Chhaiya Chhaiya with Shah Rukh Khan in Mani Ratnam's 1998 film, Dil Se. The song catapulted Malaika to stardom as an item girl.
In 2005, Farah choreographed Kaal Dhamaal, an item number that saw Malaika team up with Shah Rukh once again. In 2010, Malaika and Farah created magic with Munni badnaam in Dabangg.
Sajid Khan, director of Housefull 2, has already claimed that Anarkali will be the hottest item dance of 2012, beating Katrina Kaif’s Chikni Chameli in Agneepath.
For Malaika, the challenge however, was not about beating Kat, with whom she had a similar item war when the latter's Tees Maar Khan item dance Sheila ki Jawani released around the same time as Munni badnaam. "Every time I do a dance number with Farah Khan, there is a certain amount of pressure on me. Anarkali will be another blockbuster and the audience will not forget it for a long time. Chhaiya Chhaiya was a trendsetter while Munni was iconic and rustic. Anarkali is a blend of the modern and the Moghul styles of dance," Malaika said.
"I hope this song keeps our hit track record intact after Chhaiya Chhaiya, Kaal Dhamaal and Munni Badnaam," Farah said. Housefull 2 is slated for an April 5 release.
